The 16th Annual Pocono Mountain Film Festival To Take Place October 13th, 2018

The 16th Annual Pocono Mountains Film Festival will showcase various categories of independent films, also affording an exclusive opportunity to meet with Film Producers, Directors and Distributors during the Meet & Greet segment. Followed by an Honorary Awards Dinner and red carpet gala, and will feature a media photo-op. The day will culminate with the much-anticipated awards ceremony Awards Dinner featuring presentations to filmmakers for the best screenplay, full feature, film short, LGBT, documentary, music video, Student Film, and Christian films. Florence Anthony will Host the awards ceremony for PMFF - 2018. Submissions Deadline: September 30th.

When: Saturday, October 13th, 2018. Film screening times from 10 AM. Meet and Greet on the Red carpet starts at 5 PM and the Awards Dinner Ceremony begins at 6:30 PM

Honorees:
PMFF“Lifetime Entertainment Career Achievement Award” - Angelo Ellerbee, a Humanitarian, Executive Producer, Filmmaker, Media Guru, Author of “The Sense of Success” and “Ask Angelo,” is the recipient of this award. He is also, the founder of  “Double XXposure Media Relations” founded in 1972, crafted by Ellerbee to be a one-stop-shop for his clients. Record labels sought him out to not only optimize the exposure of their artists with publicity but to also groom their artists for longevity with his cutting-edge Artist Development training course. Filling a glaring industry-wide void, he even became known as the "Henry Higgins of Hip-Hop" for his work with preparing rappers for their careers. Ellerbee has worked with a wide array of clientele, ranging from Michael Jackson to Lionel Richie, Mary J. Blige, DMX (whom he also managed), amongst others.

PMFF “Lifetime Career Achievement Award” Roz Nixon is an American playwright and producer. She is the founder and Executive Producer of Roz Nixon Entertainment, her organization books performers for television, commercials and film projects. Nixon has written four plays, primarily featuring song and verse regarding famous Jazz musicians. Roz Nixon Entertainment booked talent for films such as "Unfaithful," "The Devil Wears Prada," "American Gangster," Music and Lyrics and in episodes of "Sex In the City," "NYPD Blue," and "The Good Wife." Nixon was the casting agent for a list of commercials like Heineken, Verizon and New York Knicks commercials. The fantasy jazz musical takes place in "Madame Royale's Supper Club" on a cruise ship that features legendary jazz artists such as Louis Armstrong, Sarah Vaughan, and Billy Eckstine.

PMFF “Lifetime Music Artist Career Achievement Award”  - Whether as a rapper, producer, DJ or A&R executive, Glenn Bolton— stage name Daddy-O—has permeated the music industry for over three decades. The Brooklyn born artist evolved into a highly sought-after talent in 1979 as a member of the renowned Hip Hop band Stetsasonic. His production career started in the 90’s after the formation of RPM (Rush Producer’s Management) when DJ’s such as Daddy-O signed on to collaborative projects with some of the industry’s most prominent artists. While still a member of Stetsasonic, his solo projects began gaining critical acclaim in 1993, which proved to be a pivotal year once he released his debut album, You Can be a Daddy, But Never Daddy-O, on Island/PolyGram Records. Singles such as "Brooklyn Bounce" were popular hits on his subsequent tour.

PMFF“Advocate for a Better America Award” Victoria Illery is retired from the New York City Police Department, School Safety Division. She served thirty years of dedicated service protecting our children in the New York City public schools. Throughout the years she moved up the ranks and retired as Captain. Following her retirement, Victoria went back to her beloved children as a Substitute Teacher for the New York City Department of Education. Subsequently, she also worked as a Security Supervisor at SUNY Downstate Medical Center at Long Island College Hospital. She is currently a Board Member of Urban Strategies Inc., located in Brownsville Brooklyn NY.  Urban Strategies is a Not-for-Profit organization that provides much-needed community services. She lives in Brooklyn New York.
